Get answers to common questions about Pocket PE
Pocket PE was designed for PE specialists, classroom teachers responsible for PE instruction, instructional aides, and school teams working together to promote access and opportunity to PE for their students throughout the entire school day.
Pocket PE was created by Dr. Jeanette Ricci and a team of CDC-funded research scientists who study child movement, physical activity, and the barriers schools face in delivering quality PE. It was developed in collaboration with educators and built to reflect real classroom conditions. Unlike many newer education tools, Pocket PE does not use AI-generated lesson content. Its lessons, supports, and activity structure are intentionally developed through research, educator feedback, and standards-based design.
Currently, Pocket PE is available for Grades 3 to 5. Our K-2 curriculum is in development.
