Pocket PE is a mobile app that equips educators with standards-aligned lessons, movement breaks, and short instructional videos designed for real school conditions. Created by CDC-funded research scientists and shaped in collaboration with educators, Pocket PE helps teachers lead confident, engaging physical education without adding more complexity to the school day.
Built by Dr. Jeanette Ricci and a team of researchers who have spent years studying how children move and the barriers schools face in delivering quality physical activity, Pocket PE brings evidence-based support to your pocket.
Pocket PE was built around the realities teachers navigate every day: limited space, tight schedules, varying equipment, and diverse student needs. It helps educators deliver meaningful movement with a tool grounded in research, refined with educator feedback, and designed to support professional judgment, not replace it.

Pocket PE was created by Dr. Jeanette Ricci and a team of CDC-funded research scientists at Saavsus, Inc. who have spent years studying youth physical activity, motor development, and the real barriers educators face when trying to provide quality PE. Along the way, classroom teachers and PE specialists helped shape and evaluate the app so it works in real schools, not just in theory.
And because educator trust matters, Pocket PE does not rely on AI-generated lessons or AI-written activity content. What you see in the app is intentionally developed through research, standards alignment, and educator-informed design.
