As an early career researcher, Dr. Jeanette Ricci saw a persistent gap: students needed more opportunities for movement, yet schools struggled to balance standards‑based PE instruction with the limited time and resources of PE specialists. Classroom teachers had the potential to help fill that gap, but their training rarely prepared them to deliver structured, standards‑aligned physical education.

Pocket PE was created to bridge that divide. Driven by Dr. Ricci’s vision and supported through multiple research grants, our team spent three years developing an evidence‑based, adaptable tool that empowers educators and supports schools in meeting both instructional goals and mandated requirements. The result is a program built for classrooms of every shape and size — equipping teachers, strengthening outcomes, and ensuring every student has access to meaningful movement.
